‘Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is’ By Le Fil
Words: A. Murray.
Le Fil is the London vocal force which is taking the world by storm with his contagious pop quality. He fuses a little bit of rock into his pop also for good measure, and it will leave you itching for more from the upcoming sensation.
He leaps out with charisma from the moment he starts singing. There is a unique quality within his timbre which makes him stand out genuinely. So much so, I doubt you will be able to mirror his vocals anywhere else in the modern scene. However, he does take influence from his antecedents in pop with plenty of melodic lines which are strikingly memorable.
The track for me oozes a feel-good vibe. It is quite the opposite to the lyrics with Le Fil speaking about the negatives of a partner. The chorus bites hard with a thumping arrangement which will knock your socks off. It pulls us in with a catchy hook from the instant, and it is challenging to keep the allure which Le Fil provides at bay.
As the track progresses, plenty of fresh sounds appear. I relish how Le Fil keeps the piece from becoming monotonous, and it keeps the excitement flowing. Also, it demonstrates that Le Fil is not shy to mix things up from time to time with him often welding sounds which are not all too familiar in pop.
Overall, it is a track which will help Le Fil cement his name in pop history. But, he still has more to prove with only a limited number of records in his discography. Nevertheless, if he keeps churning out hits like this one, he will soon be stepping foot on the red carpet.
