Suman returns with her new single ‘Crazy Over You’. Taking a new direction, here she shines with a release which is sending a shockwave across the hip hop realm.

Teaming up with Ayo Beatz, Suman opens with a strong vocal performance. She pierces her through the release with a heartfelt quality, and she passionately expresses how she has been swept off her feet by a loved one.

I enjoy how the track combines an up to date beat with a dancehall aura. It also introduces a new eastern sound which sounds unique to what else is popping in the modern industry. However, a Latin direction even can be heard with the beat pushing forward with Mediterranean quality. Also, the sounds which pop out from the mix are noble. We hear a steel drum sounding lead jumping out at times, and it adds even more weight to the already colossal mix.

The chorus on ‘Crazy Over You’ is the leading hook which you would expect from a release like this one. It is contagious, and the melody sticks deep, leaving a long-lasting mark. Also, the track pushes forward in style, and Suman regularly mixes up her technique with her singing both soft and hard in various sections.

My only pet hate about this track is that it feels like it could be longer. The track is of moderate length sitting at just over 3 minutes in length, but it feels like more could appear. However, there is nothing which the reply button cannot fix.

Overall, UK hip hop has not sounded this good for quite some time. Also, if this track is anything to go by, then Suman will be a household name in little time.
