The Sheringham singer-songwriter has built a steady catalogue over the past couple of years, and this latest single does exactly what it says on the tin.

The track kicks off with some ethereal backing before settling into a fingerpicked guitar line that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Damien Rice record. Munir’s vocals carry the weight here, delivering a message about brushing yourself off after life kicks you around. Apparently inspired by Gone With The Wind, of all things, though you’d never guess it from listening.

There’s a warmth to the production that works. Nothing flashy, nothing overcooked. Just a bloke in a home studio in North Norfolk making the kind of understated folk that sounds best through headphones on a long train journey. It’s the sort of tune that’ll find its way onto those “songs for when you need a minute” playlists, and fair play to that.

Ervin has been churning out material at an impressive rate since late 2022, including two full albums, and while not every track lands with the same impact, “Today’s Another Day” has a lived-in quality that suggests he’s finding his stride. He’s carved out a proper place in the local scene, running open mics and gigging regularly, and that grassroots connection shows in music that feels grounded rather than reaching for something it’s not.
