Where REAL Music Talks
‘Quietude’ By Lime Juice
Words: A. Murray.
Lime Juice are the indie rockers we have been craving for many years. They hail from Italy, and they bring something just that little bit different to the forefront of the genre and many, including myself, are enjoying their creative direction.
The band are not shy when it comes to crafting a hit indie track. Furthermore, the group have also found success off the back of their other releases, including ‘Bitter’. But, this one comes with a new trajectory which is difficult to fault.
‘Quietude’ is a gentle yet empowering track. The tempo keeps relatively melancholy for the most part, although that does take a slightly different direction towards the finale. It kicks off with a reverb dripping guitar rhythm and a drumbeat which shuffles its way through excessively thoroughly. Also, a bass line jumps out with right might, and it does not take long until you are swaying to its tightknit swing.
We are then in with a strong vocal performance from frontman ‘Allesandro’, he sings with a refreshing grit. Also, gentle harmonies accompany his main vocal lead which adds even more weight to his already dominant sound. The verse is interesting, given that it does not sound similar to many other tracks which I hear in the modern indie space.
The music is powerful, and the band know this, hence why they leverage it. It pops out regularly, and the group get to unleash their power on many occasions with them taking a no prisoner approach. I enjoy how they keep the energy flowing, and we get stopped in our tracks with a substantial bridge in the midsection with the guitar flying through the speakers with a tone which will leave you dribbling from the mouth.
